PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES - Full payment of the course fee are required upon enrolment. Confirmation of your payment will be sent via email in the form of a tax receipt. For taxation purposes please note: If you are paying/enrolling more than one participant (i.e. yourself and a colleague) please note only ONE tax receipt will be issued in the name of the enroller/credit card holder. Individual tax receipts are not issued for multiple enrolments in the one transaction. Melbourne Dental School cannot issue separate receipts at a later date for multiple person enrolments. Upon receiving your enrolment, MDS will forward confirmation of course details. 

CONTACT DETAILS - Please ensure you contact us as soon as possible if you update or change your contact details. Emailing is our main way of contacting you about the course/s you have enrolled in.

WAITING LISTS - Email mds-cpd@unimelb.edu.au and include the your name/course name. If a place becomes available, we will make our way through the wait list until the place is filled. Full payment is required upon acceptance. Wait lists are for the current years’ programs only and are not carried over from year to year.

CANCELLATIONS - If you need to cancel your registration you must inform us, as soon as possible, by emailing mds-cpd@unimelb.edu.au so that your place can be offered to another applicant. Cancellation fees apply as per the below:

Online blended learning courses (online lectures and face to face sessions):

  • If your Canvas account has not been activated (to gain access to the online lectures), a 100% refund will be offered minus a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Once your Canvas account has been activated (to gain access to the online lectures), a 50% refund of the course fees will be offered should you wish to cancel from the course.
  • If you are unable to attend the hands-on component, a 50% refund of the course fees will be offered.
  • Cancellations made less than one week prior to the hands-on component or failure to attend/notify the CPD office prior to the scheduled date will receive NO refund.

Online lectures only

  • If your Canvas account has not been activated (to gain access to the online lectures), a 100% refund will be offered minus a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Once your Canvas account has been activated (to gain access to the online lectures), NO refund of the course fees will be offered should you wish to cancel from the course.

DISCLAIMER

  • The Melbourne Dental School (MDS) reserves the right to cancel, postpone, relocate or reschedule any program. Should MDS exercise this right, we will endeavour to notify delegates as early as possible to minimize inconvenience. A full refund of the course fees paid by the delegate for the course will be offered and processed within 30 days of notification.
  • MDS will not accept any responsibility for travel and accommodation costs incurred by a delegate.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE - A Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to each participant at the end of the course with the associated CPD hours.

CATERING - Light refreshments will be provided at our programs. Special dietary requirements will need to be requested upon your enrolment. While we will endeavour to accommodate most dietary requirements there may be times where specific requirements cannot be accommodated through our approved university catering contacts.

HANDS-ON PROGRAMS - Generally, all equipment to be used at our hands-on courses will be supplied. However it is MANDATORY for participants to bring their own SAFETY GLASSES AND OR LOUPES. These must be worn at all times when working within the preclinical areas. Participants must also ensure to dress appropriately for a preclinical environment. This means:

  • Wearing covered clinical footwear. Shoes must cover the foot, heel to toe (no sandals or open toed shoes etc).
  • NO shorts or short skirts. Legs must be covered as an OHS requirement.
  • Failure to dress appropriately for this setting may result in participants not being able to enter these designated training areas.

VENUE AND LOCATION OF COURSES - Our courses are often held over several venues. Participants will be notified of exact venue and room allocations in advance of the course date.
Melbourne Dental School, 720 Swanston Street, Carlton - No car parking available on site. There is a tram stop right outside the main entrance of OHV/MDS. Melbourne Central Station is the closest railway station and there are numerous bus routes close by (Metlink on 131 638). Local car parking is available on the corner of Cardigan Street, Wilson Parking on Elgin Street and the Clock Tower car park on Drummond Street. Metered parking is also available in the area.

Melbourne Dental School (located within Melbourne Dental Clinic) 723 Swanston Street, Carlton - No parking available onsite. There is a tram stop close to the corner of Swanston and Grattan Streets. Melbourne Central Station is the closest railway station and there are numerous bus routes close by (Metlink on 131 638). Local car parking is available on the corner of Cardigan Street, Wilson Parking on Elgin Street and the Clock Tower car park on Drummond Street. Metered parking is also available in the area.
